祝贺陈晓东教授荣获干燥领域A. S. Mujumdar奖章

      A. S. Mujumdar奖章设立于2007,旨在表彰在国际干燥领域做出杰出科研贡献同时又终身进行杰出指导的科研工作者,是干燥领域的最高奖项之一。在9月24至26日举行的第九届亚太干燥会议(the 9th Asia-Pacific Drying Conference, ADC 2017)上,陈晓东教授荣获A. S. Mujumdar奖章,成为全球范围内第12位荣获该奖项的人员。 
      陈晓东教授在喷雾干燥领域做出系统贡献,从工业级别干燥塔和颗粒产品研发到单液滴干燥过程与喷雾干燥理论都实现突破,把对喷雾干燥过程的理解带入新的层次。他创立了REA干燥理论,如今在其他干燥领域也得到广泛应用 。陈教授的科研工作广泛涵盖了仿生化工、食品工程、消化道工程和颗粒技术等。截至2017年,陈教授发表期刊论文520余篇,会议论文220余篇,书籍章节20余篇,并撰写发表3本专业书籍。他于2015年在第十二届国际工程与食品大会上荣获终身成就奖,2017年,陈教授获得法国国立农学及食品研究高等教育学院自建校187年来首次颁发的荣誉博士学位。 
      除科研成就外,A. S. Mujumdar奖章的另一个重要考量标准是在干燥领域起到的指导作用与领袖作用,长期以来陈教授在这方面的杰出贡献有目共睹。他的学生和博后在食品、乳品和干燥工业中发展,为产业带来活力;在参加国际会议时和其他学术交流场合,陈教授积极给予年轻学者建议,经常带给他们新的启发。同时,陈晓东教授也通过主办国际会议、建立多国合作交流平台等方式,为国际干燥领域的学术交流和合作提供新的平台。他在数十个国际会议中作出大会发言与主题发言,长期活跃在干燥技术科研与应用的前沿,持续影响着干燥领域的进展。 
      荣获A. S. Mujumdar奖章,是对陈晓东教授长期以来在干燥领域中的科研成就、服务和指导作用的综合肯定,期许陈教授在未来为干燥领域带来更多耳目一新的新发展。

The A. S. Mujumdar medal was set up in 2007. It aims to commend scientific research workers who have made distinguished contributions to scientific research in the field of international dryness and at the same time have made outstanding guidance for life. It is one of the top prizes in the field of drying. At the 9th Asia-Pacific Drying Conference, ADC 2017 held on September 24 to 26, Professor Chen Xiaodong was awarded the A.S. Mujumdar medal and became the twelfth person in the world to win the award.

Professor Chen Xiaodong made a systematic contribution in spray drying field, and achieved breakthrough from industrial level drying tower and granular product development to single droplet drying process and spray drying theory, bringing the understanding of spray drying process to a new level. The REA drying theory founded by him is now widely used in other drying fields. Professor Chen's research work covers a wide range of bionic chemical industry, food engineering, digestive tract engineering and particle technology, etc. By 2017, Professor Chen published more than 520 periodical papers, more than 220 conference papers, more than 20 book chapters and 3 professional books. He won the lifetime achievement award at the Twelfth International Conference on Engineering and Food in 2015. In 2017, Professor Chen received the honorary doctorate degree awarded by the French National Institute of Higher Education of Agronomy and Food Research for the first time in 187 years.

In addition to scientific research achievement, another important consideration of A. S. Mujumdar medal is its guiding role and leadership role in the drying field. For a long time, Professor Chen's outstanding contributions to this field are obvious to all. His students and postdoctoral students have developed in the food, dairy and dry industries to bring vitality to the industries. When attending international conferences and other academic exchanges, Professor Chen actively gives advices to young scholars and often brings new inspiration to them. At the same time, Professor Chen Xiaodong also provides a new platform for academic exchanges and cooperation in the field of international drying by hosting international conferences and establishing multi-country cooperation and exchange platforms. At dozens of international conferences, he made speeches and keynote speeches, has been active in the forefront of the research and application of dry technology for a long time, and continues to affect the development of drying field.

The award of A. S. Mujumdar medal is a comprehensive affirmation of the achievements, service and guidance of Professor Chen Xiaodong in the drying field for a long time. It is expected that Professor Chen will bring more new refreshing developments to the drying field in the future.
